AURAT
Agar beti hai toh rehmat
Agar biwi hai toh shohar ka nafs imaan
Agar maa hai toh uske khadmo mein jannat
Last Friday, Imam of our Masjid during Qutba mentioned a Sahi hadeeth Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas which
I like to mention here:
Allah's Apostle said, “I also saw the Hell-fire and I had never seen such a horrible sight. I saw that most of the inhabitants were women."
The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Why is it so?" The Prophet replied, "Because of their ungratefulness."
They asked whether women are ungrateful to Allah.
The Prophet said, "They are ungrateful to their companions of life (husbands) and ungrateful to good deeds. If you are benevolent to one of them throughout the life and if she sees anything (undesirable) in you, she will say, 'I never had any good from you.' "
Our Imam went on to say - Let's not forget what our Prophet had advised men " The BEST of you are those who are the BEST with their wives......"( Tirmidi) So we must understand both men & women have rights over each other. He went on to quote- Qur'an says
"Among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves that you may dwell in tranquility with them and He has put love and mercy between your hearts: verily in that are signs for those who reflect." (Surah Al Rum 30:21.)
Two days later incidentally I received an Email from my niece. This is one such mail that changed whole prospective on women-
" In Arabic the world "shams" (sun) is feminine, and "qamar" (moon) is masculine. The sun burns itself out to give light and life to everything around, and the moon is muneer, meaning it reflects the light. Within itself moon has no light; it only radiates the brilliance of the sun. So when we shine as men, the implication is that men are reflecting the glorious efforts and light of our women."
